Located in Switzerland, Arosa, is a big resort with some 16 lifts which offer the skier an impressive vertical descent of 2952 feet or 900 metres. It has 70 pistes with a combined length of 62 miles or 100 kilometers. It is best suited for intermediate snowboarders and skiers and has some good terrain suitable for beginners. It is however of little interest for skiers who are advanced. Arosa has 20 miles or 32 kilometers ski trails fit for cross country skiing. Zurich at 3 hours is the closest Airport. Arosa is the nearest train station.

Arosa – A Natural Bowl

Arosa, set in a natural bowl, above the tree-line and surrounded by high ridges is a compact resort amidst the Graubunden range of mountains, just a few hours to the south of Zurich. It has a good mix of blues and reds. It also has a number of challenging blacks. This range is good for those with mixed abilities. If you don’t want to really ski, you have winter rambling routes of some 30 miles good for walkers.

Take Free Shuttle Rides

You can ride on the free shuttle buses in the ski area as you visit and shop in the numerous ski shops around. The Arosa train station is within the town and provides hourly services to Chur, a small town having beautiful lake and a number of peaks located nearby.

The Arosa pistes are well interlinked and well coordinated lift system will serve you well and the new lift will give you easy access to and from the main valley. It is great for boarders, skiers with great hiking trails if you are looking for an alternative to skiing. The slopes are not too crowded either and all the runs are well managed and run. The instructors at Arosa are fantastic, and you will enjoy the runs whether you are a beginner or a pro. They are great and fun particularly with the young ones. It is the place to beginners to advance.

As you move about, visit the cute restaurants that are scattered all over the resort with worthy food.
